Running Shoe Donations

Is it time to clean out your closets and possibly the trunk of your car to get rid of those old, smelly, and worn-out running shoes?

I would like to coordinate a donation of old running shoes on behalf of the Loveland Road Runners to One World Running (www.oneworldrunning.com). This non-profit organization is headquartered in Boulder and is an international program promoting health, fitness, and nutrition awareness by providing running shoes to those in need around the world. I will be collecting shoe donations over the next couple of weeks at our Tuesday evening track workouts and Saturday morning group runs

Zucchini Carrot Pineapple cake-Brian's Birthday Cake

Zucchini Carrot Pineapple cake

2 c flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup milk + 1 Tbsp vinegar added to milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
8 oz crushed pineapple in juice
2 cups grated carrots
1 cup grated zucchini, peel included

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Grease and flour a 13"x9" pan

Mix all dry ingredients (first five) Optional add: 1/2 cup raisins and 1/2 chopped walnuts.

Beat eggs well, slowly beat in sugar, then applesauce, then the milk which has the vinegar in it and then the vanilla.

Stir in dry ingredients DO NOT OVERMIX

Stir in pinapple, carrots, zucchini

Bake 40 mins or longer till done, cool

Cream Cheese Icing

1 pkg cream cheese ( 8oz), softened to room temp
1/2 cup butter, softened to room temp
2 tsp orange rind
4 cups icing sugar
2 tsps vanilla
